Position: Sr. Product Design Engineer

Location: Apex, NC (In-office)

About the Role:

As a Senior Product Design Engineer at Ohsnap, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to create innovative and high-quality phone accessories. You will collaborate directly with our product team and our visionary CEO in our state-of-the-art 14,000 sq/ft facility in Apex, NC. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of consumer technology design and manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and engineering of new products, including but not limited to phone grips, cases, and related accessories.
• Utilize your extensive knowledge of manufacturing methods, technologies, and materials to ensure product feasibility and quality.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to bring products from concept to production, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Create and modify 3D CAD models and prototypes, iterating designs as needed.
• Conduct research to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and materials.
• Collaborate with external partners and suppliers to optimize product development processes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in product design and engineering within the consumer technology industry.
• Proven track record of being an integral part of teams that have successfully shipped consumer technology products in large quantities.
• In-depth knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and prototyping methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Intimate understanding of manufacturing processes and materials used in consumer tech products.
